Amble was brought into the RSPCA unit at Wethersfield, and appeared to be semi-tame, following the staff around while they looked after him. He was quickly transferred to an outside pen where he started to regain his wild instincts, becoming wary of human company.
Because he had been 'tamed', he was not able to go back to where he had originally been found.
Amble was transferred to Secret World in Somerset where the plan was to introduce him to other badgers to form a new social group. They would then be released into an artificial sett once a suitable site had been found.
Unfortunately, it appeared that the stress of the journey was too much, and Amble's health started to deteriorate the next day. The decision was made to euthanase the badger - a real shame after all the effort that had been put into him.
