the story of Lucy

This Badger was found injured in the middle of a busy road. She was taken round to an N.E.E.B.G members house by a lady in the boot of her car (remaining unconcious thankfully). She was immediately taken to the vets and it was found that she had suffered a heavy blow to the head resulting in swelling of the brain, bleeding from the nose and mouth and a fully dilated right eye. She also had a thorough investigation for any breakages.

She was treated with an injection to help reduce the swelling and an injection for shock and then taken to the rehab facility for rest. Her chances were thought to be slim. After a few days she began to eat and her health returned to relative normality. She was captured on the rehab camera moving around at night.

She was a model badger showing hardly any signs of aggression towards her helpers and more often than not found curled up sound asleep with her paw covering her face. Her sett was found over the next few days and she was released back into her world a week later without a hitch.

She was named after the kind lady that found her.

A truly satifying rescue!
