the story of lucky old Rumple
We recieved a phone call from the RSPCA asking if we could go to Sible Hedingham as there were reports of a Badger under a car on someones drive. Our Halstead section leader responded and sure enough a small Badger had made itself at home under a car!. After a long struggle (and being watched by a very interested audience) the Badger was caged and taken to our rehab pen for the night. The following day a trip to the vets was arranged. It was noted that a few claws were missing from the front paws and he had some nasty infected territorial wounds that were treated succesfully. It turned out this Badger was getting old, but because of his strength and very lively personality it was decided that he should be given a second chance. After a few days in rehab and after some very nourishing meals (which were very gratefully recieved) he was released close to where he was found.
